No Taxpayer Funded Hush Money

There have been revelations of sordid sexual misbehavior by California lawmakers that has crowded out everyday business at the state Capitol. A review of even the few records reluctantly made public by legislative leadership shows it’s become a routine institutional practice in Sacramento to cover up inappropriate behavior by lawmakers.

I’ve introduced Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 102 which would prohibit the legislature from negotiating or signing confidentiality agreements to settle sexual harassment claims and prohibit the use of taxpayer money to enforce them. This will end an institutional practice that helps sweep grievous conduct under the rug.
